Recipe

INGREDIENTS
  • 1/2 cup chana dal, soaked
  • 1/2 cup cabbage
  • 1/2 cup coriander leaves, chopped
  • 1/2 cup Mint leaves
  • Salt
  • 2 green chillies, chopped
  • 1 tsp ginger garlic paste
  • 1 tsp rice flour
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2 cups oil
PREPARATION
  1. Grind soaked chana dal in a mixer-grinder and keep it aside.
  2. In a mixing bowl, add chopped cabbage, coriander leaves, mint leaves, chopped green chillies, garam masala, ginger garlic paste, blended chana dal, rice flour, water and salt. Mix them well.
  3. Make 7-8 medium-sized balls from the mixture. Then, flatten the balls gently and keep them on a tray or a plate.
  4. Heat oil in a deep-frying pan on a medium flame. Once the oil is moderately hot, deep-fry the vadas until they turn golden brown and crispy.
  5. Transfer them onto a plate on a paper-napkin to soak up the excess oil.
  6. The cabbage dal vadas are ready to be served.
